I am raising money this summer for Help For Heroes which is a charity I am sure all of you will already be familiar with. Driving my classic Porsche 944 from home through southern Europe a journey of approximately 2700 miles (with no airconditioning!) inspired by a few episodes of Top Gear and wanting to do the trip for a real reason. Leaving home Saturday 1st August 2009 and driving to Dover to catch a ferry to Calais at 5:15am. The first stop is Millau in the south west of France approx 575 miles from Calais. From there the route will take in Monaco, The Italian lakes, The San Bernadino Pass through to Lichtenstein in Switzerland, Davos to Stelvio, back into Italy to Brescia to follow the famous Mille Miglia race route from Brescia to Rome, then finishing off with Portofino and the finishing line in Monaco. The route will take in some of the best and most demanding driving roads in the world not just pushing me but also the poor old car and having only myself to rely on if I get into trouble! I endevour to finish the roadtrip as soon as possible (obviously obeying all traffic laws and speed restrictions!!).

 

This is a superb charity and I would love to raise as much as possible to help out our great servicemen and women we all owe a lot too. Donate, tell a friend, tell a relation, donate again,  tell people in the street, friends at work  donate as much or as little as you can spare, every single penny will be greatly appreciated..
