Story
After months of planning and training I will be cycling SOLO from Lands End to John O'groats.
This will consist of cycling...
1537km (955 miles) in distance and
8479 meters (28146 feet) in elevation climb.
To put that in to perspective, Mount Everest is 8849m high (I may have to find an extra hill to gain that extra 270m)
I will be cycling in average 150km each day, every day.
Although I am cycling this solo, I am being supported by a great friend Daryll who will meet me each evening with our accomodation. (See updates for the 5 STAR 'sleeping arrangements we have sorted for ourselves). That has been a mini adventure in itself.
…….moving on...….
As well as the adventure and sense of achievement I am hoping to raise money for a great little charity.
B.A.S.E. act as a resource for young people living within the Bradford and surrounding areas by providing access to affordable equipment that enables them
to participate in outdoor adventure, activities and expeditions. They help remove the financial barrier that often deters and prevents young people from this type of provision.
This fundraising will go along way to ensure this resource continues and may well help provide new equipment to augment the stores they run and maintain.
