Story

Liberty Tea Rooms are community run, community supported & community focussed tea rooms in Bank Court Hemel Hempstead.   Liberty Tea Room is a One-Stop-Shop place of inclusion, offering help, encouragement and support to the local Community.  They are the home of Street Pastors and CAP, as well as a Food Bank distribution centre.   Liberty Tea Rooms  is run and staffed by volunteers from the local community and offers free services for those in need via a Community Hub, the ethos is that everyone is welcome and everyone is valued. Volunteers who are unable to work on site provide handcrafted cakes and bakes for the charity.  Every day there is a tasty selection of goodies on offer for visitors.  There are over 70 volunteers  throughout the week.

Fresh Food and drink is available at a minimum suggested donation, so that even those on a low income can feel included.  All cash donations are put into a little brown envelope to ensure dignity is intact. This is then placed into the Honesty Box. Liberty Tea Rooms has now secured the ability to claim gift aid on all donations made.

I have volunteered at Liberty Tea Rooms one a day a week for almost three years and they have helped me gain so much confidence and I really enjoy the session (of the two) where I help prepare the food!

This will be my second marathon this year.  I am ranked 1 in the country for T20 category (mental impairment) this year.
