As many of you know I lost Graeme in a tragic ski accident last year.  He really was an amazing man, he worked hard, got people, was an incredible party starter and generous to a fault - he left an unfillable void in all of our lives.

This year he would have turned 50 in September and he was particularly keen to mark this mile stone by undertaking a sporting challenge followed by a huge party. Something that I wanted to continue to see realised.

Some of you may remember that Graeme was very involved with a wonderful charity called the Change Foundation and he really believed in their ambition to turn young peoples lives around through the power of rugby.  He had a huge amount of respect for their CEO Andy Sellins and his team and was dedicated to supporting them in any way he could.

So in honnor of his 50th year we have combined Graeme's love of the Change Foundation with his desire to celebrate in style and we have organised a cycling challenge from Edinburgh to London which culminates in a fundraising party on the 1st October.  Everything he would have loved!

It goes without saying that I am completely committed to undertaking all the 450 miles of the cycle from his beloved Scotland back down to London and, although I will be in the company of some of our oldest friends and families, I have to admit that I am absolutely terrified by what lies ahead. On my first long training cycle to Box Hill from Wimbledon I had lunch and fell asleep for 40 minutes! I did managed to cycle home and then collapsed on the sofa!! The distance to Box hill is an equivalent of a mornings cycle on the ride from Edinburgh!

So please -  I need your help!! I am doing this for just two reasons, to mark, in style, the milestone that my amazing husband would have reached and raise as much money for The Change Foundation as I possibly can.  We aim to fund a crucial element of their work which will in turn act as an important part of Graeme's legacy.

I hope that he would have been proud but I know for sure that he would endless pleasure in poking fun at my very sore bum issues!

Thank you all!

Alex
