Alex's Everest@HomeChallenge

Everest@HomeChallenge · 15 April 2020
I am a serving Captain in the British Army with the RIFLES and am currently on leave after returning from training in the US.
I was tracking the Coronavirus impact on the UK while away and am looking to complete the Everest@HomeChallenge to raise money for the NHS.
I aim to climb the 8,848m ascent of Mount Everest by doing step-ups (42,134 of them on a 21cm step) at home which I am estimating will take around 24 hours if I average 30 per minute.
I will begin the Everest@HomeChallenge at 8pm on Wednesday 15th April 2020, hoping to finish by 8pm on Thursday 16th to join the applause for the NHS as celebration. No build-up training has been done, just going to give it a go!
I hope the challenge will motivate people, whether in the same household or apart and promote positivity, togetherness, health and fitness as well as mental resilience during these uncertain times.
