Running the Liverpool Santa Dash 2019

Story

My eldest daughter Evie is a normal happy, healthy 13 year old, but in 2008 she became very ill. We noticed she had a rash and was feeling sick so we took her to the NHS walk-in centre in Wavertree. Not thinking too much of it, we presumed it was measles or something similar. However, after a thorough check-up by the vigilant NHS staff they sent us straight up to Alder Hey. The doctors immediately began treating her for Meningococcal Septicaemia (Meningitis). She remained seriously ill for four days but thankfully made a full recovery and was discharged just in time for Christmas. This was the best present we ever had. If it wasn't for the expert NHS staff, I'm not sure she would have made it. SAVE THE NHS!!

I’ve ran the Santa Dash every year since then raising over 2k for Alder Hey. A small way to support the amazing work that goes on there and thank the NHS staff that gave me my daughter back. This year Evie and I are going to run the 5k together. Evie has been training and wants to get a PB of under 35 mins. I just hope to finish it!
