Overcoming MS 24 Peaks Challenge · 6 October 2017 to 8 October 2017 ·
This year will mark 15 years since one of my closest friends, Linda Bloom, was diagnosed with MS. Now, 15 years later, she's healthy, vibrant, and symptom-free thanks to the important work of Overcoming MS, a nonprofit whose mission is to raise awareness about the OMS 7-Step Recovery Program, a scientifically-researched and evidence-based diet and lifestyle modification program that has helped thousands of people around the world with MS live better and healthier lives.
To support the important work Overcoming MS is doing, and to celebrate Linda’s health and drive to help others with MS get healthier, I’m embarking on the 24 Peaks Challenge to help raise much-needed funds for Overcoming MS. The event will take place from October 6-8, and will see us summit 24 peaks in England’s Lake District, all over 2,400 ft with a target trekking time of 24 hours, including scaling the highest point in England – Scafell Pike! The days will be long and the trekking will be tough, but the accomplishment will make our efforts worthwhile.
I am asking you to join me to help raise funds for Overcoming MS, so that more people diagnosed with MS are given the vital hope that Linda received when she was first diagnosed. I’d be so grateful if you’d consider donating as much as you can for us to collectively help increase OMS’ reach and ensure that more people with MS have access to information which could dramatically change their lives.
Because of the example set by Linda and so many others like her, I feel strongly that everyone diagnosed with MS needs to know that such a diagnosis need not bring with it uncertainty and fear for the future, but rather hope, realistic hope that Overcoming MS can provide through its evidence-based work.
