Edinburgh Kiltwalk 2026 · 13 September 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

The Health Agency is a community-led charity in Wester Hailes, supporting over 2,000 people each year from south-west Edinburgh’s most deprived communities to lead longer, healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Story

At The Health Agency, we believe everyone deserves the chance to live well. In Wester Hailes, we support over 2,000 people each year to access nutritious food, stay active and independent, and receive mental health and cancer support when they need it most. We create safe, welcoming spaces where people connect, rebuild confidence and feel less alone—empowering people to lead longer, healthier, more fulfilling lives.

As a Health Visitor, my role is to ensure that children and their parents have the support, care, and safety net they need during the most critical early years of life. But when a family is struck by a cancer diagnosis, their entire world is turned upside down. The financial strain, emotional exhaustion, and sheer anxiety of managing treatment while raising young children can feel impossible.

I am taking on the 21-mile Edinburgh Kiltwalk Mighty Stride on the 13th September to raise vital funds for The Health Agency -Westerhaven! On event day, I will be donning my kilt and walking the ultimate marathon-distance challenge from Holyrood Park all the way to Murrayfield Stadium. Every step of this 21-mile journey is dedicated to supporting a fantastic, locally rooted cause.

Why Westerhaven? Based within The Health Agency in Wester Hailes, Westerhaven acts as a critical, compassionate lifeline for individuals, families, and carers across South West Edinburgh who are affected by cancer or long-term health conditions. They provide fully free, holistic support when people need it most, including :Specialist Care: Confidential support sessions with dedicated cancer nurses. Mental Health: Professional counselling, CBT, and bereavement support. Wellbeing & Recovery: Gentle yoga therapy, anxiety management groups, and complementary therapies.

How your donation helps: Because the Kiltwalk guarantees that 100% of all funds raised go directly to my chosen charity (plus extra funding from eligible Gift Aid), every single penny you donate will stay right here in Edinburgh to help local people face tough medical battles with dignity, community, and expert care.
