Story
Hello. Thank you for visiting this page.
I will be running the half-marathon on September the 26th after waiting for 18 months. This is my first official half-marathon race. I did run the half-marathon length with my kids in October 2020 (thank you for supporting us then!), but it was not the official route. I train quite a bit, and like running uphill (about 8 km in this race), but hate running back down (13 km), so right now in my training I am focussing on running downhill:)
Running is my way of meditation, so it is amazing to be able to do that and at the same time raise funds for good causes. Last year we raised £1000 for City of Sheffield Swim Squad, which got in difficulty after many lockdowns and pool closures.
This year I hope to continue raising for Parkinson's Disease research at the University of Sheffield.
I hope you will sponsor my run for Parkinson’s Disease research as part of the University of Sheffield team. Thank you!
Donation amounts and their impact on Parkinson’s Disease research:
- £5 could help stock our research labs with essential supplies.
- £10 will go towards funding a researcher to investigate the root cause of the disease
- £15 could pay for one hour of research by our early career scientists.
- £25 helps to transform a patient’s skin cells into brain cells for non-invasive testing
- £50 could accelerate the discovery of new therapies by covering the cost of a clinical trial for a day.
Thank you so much for supporting my run and the very important cause!
