As you know we lost our son Alexander John at birth on August 11th last year.  His short life has had such a big impact on us and he will never be forgotten.

Since Alex's birth we have received a great deal of support from friends, family and relative strangers who were touched by our story.  The stillbirth and neonatal death charity, SANDS, have been a massive help to us over the last few months both in New Zealand and in the UK.  They provided us with a baby basket and blanket for Alex when he was first born, and we have felt a great deal of relief from attending the support groups.  They also support research into why so many babies still die unexpectedly (17 a day in the UK) and training for health professionals.

So, we've set up this page as we hope a few people might do various events throughout the year to raise money for SANDS.  My cousin in law, Vicky Elms, has very kindly said she is going to do just that when she runs her first Marathon in April!!!!!  I think a marathon is an incredible feat of willpower, fitness and determination so thank you Vicky for even considering doing it for us.  I hope the money you raise gives you the inspiration you need!

Later in the year Niles SHOULD be signing up to do an event in NZ so watch this space as I'll be bugging you for cash then too!  Here's the info about how it all works....
