Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

MS is my invisible companion. We will spend the rest of my life together. But so far I'm one of the lucky ones, as most people can't tell that I have this condition.

Running is a new-found love of mine, courtesy of the COVID lockdown. As I started to increase the length of my weekly runs, I found that my thoughts roamed more freely. One day I remembered my first pregnancy, and how I used to fear a postnatal relapse, common in mothers with MS. Such a relapse could have left me unable to walk, breastfeed and independently care for my newborn baby.

Thankfully that relapse never happened and I'm now a mother of two healthy children. I feel strong, happy and grateful. But it made me think of those women with MS who were not as lucky as me and may be struggling to run, or walk, or see, or think... So I'm running this half-marathon for them, raising funds in support of the MS Society and their pursuit of a cure.
