As many of you are aware, cancer has claimed the lives of many of our loved ones over the last 7 years. In May 2012 Diane (Alex’s mum) died of lung cancer, shortly after in August 2012 Roy (Our Grandad) died of bowel cancer. In 2015 Aunty Julie died of lung cancer and in January 2019 Brenda (Naomi’s mum) lost her fight to lung cancer as well. This horrendous disease has left us endlessly heartbroken and left our Nana, originally a wife and mother of 3, a widower who has outlived all of her children. On reflection it is important to remember the happy memories and without the help of St Michael’s Hospice and their incredible care and compassion we would have struggled to relive our happy memories with our loved ones during what is, and always will be, a devastating time. Naomi and I aren’t of an athletic nature and whilst we would love to one day achieve a marathon in their memory, for now we are taking part in St Michael’s Charity Twilight walk on Saturday 7th March and we would love your support through donations to a cause close to our hearts. If you can help us to reach our target we would really appreciate it.
