As many of you know running isn't exactly something i'm enthusiastic about (understatement of the century), and it’s pretty painful even writing about what I've signed myself up for.

Second to running, if you know me you'll know early morning self discipline when there's any other option isn't my strongest quality. So getting up pre-work 4 days a week to do this may just about kill me.

But, here it is, out in public which means there's no backing down... 

I'm going to be (attempting) to run 20km a week for the next 7 weeks, and by World Refugee Day on 20th June, to support MAP (Medical Aid for Palestinians). To any runners out there who think this isn't particularly challenging, I'd like to point out that when I did the NHS 5km I could barely walk for about 6 days after. Prior to that, I don't think I'd run anywhere since about 2005.

I'm raising money for an incredible charity doing incredible work. I know many of you are focusing your efforts and generosity on home and the amazing work people are doing here, but if you can spare anything to metaphorically cheer me on and support this extremely worthy cause it'd be so appreciated.

Coronavirus has impacted all of us in so many ways. Unfortunately, it is particularly dangerous for Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. The available healthcare services in the region are limited and already severely overstretched. MAP is working alongside local partners, doing what they can to help in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon. This is an event to symbolise unity and solidarity even when we cannot physically get together, and cover a whopping distance of 2190 miles between now and the 20th June, to show support for Palestinians and raise vital funds for MAP's work.
