After our initial £5k raised in memory of my beautiful wife Alex Cooper, the Grizdale unit have decided to set up a fund in her name.  The fund will help support existing and new nurses going through the vital Chemo training they need to do every year.  The fund will be across all Chemo units in the Bay Hospitals group so it won't just be Kendal that benefit but also Barrow and Lancaster.  

Until you have to go through Chemo you will never understand what effect it has on the patient and the family and these nurses like all nurses do an amazing job and if we can help keep their fund top up as an ongoing cause then I'm happy that Alex work is continuing for years to come.  

Me and Alex met in 2001 and had 16 years together in total.  I think it is only fitting that I've set the target to £16k .. £1k for each year we were together.  Lots of people raise money for Macmillan and Cancer Research which also do an amazing job but I wanted this to be something local something that might help a family member out or even a neighbour.  

I welcome any donation you would like to make towards the fund but more importantly I would like you to consider this fund on any future fundraising events you might do.
