Story
It’s that time again, a fresh month comes a new fundraising challenge! And this month, there’s a little twist… yes, A NEW CHALLENGER APPROACHES!
May’s charity run will guest star the lovely Alex. She’ll be running alongside with me virtually as we hope to clock over 100 miles for her chosen charity, Charcot-Marie-Tooth UK.
CMT is the UK’s charity dedicated to supporting people living with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease – the most common inherited neurological condition in the world, estimated to affect 1 in 2,500 people. The charity provides personal support, advice and information through; help-lines, emails, Facebook groups/page, website and publications.
One of the charitable objects of Charcot-Marie-Tooth is “the promotion of research into the causes and treatment of CMT/HMSN/PMA* and the publication of the useful results of such research”
There has been much progress in the identification of the causes of CMT, that is the genes that cause the problem, but there's still lots of research to be done and support to give.
So… with double the legs, DOUBLE the goal! This month the fundraising bar has been set to £200, so like always, please give what you can to help another great cause in 2021.
To help clock up the mileage and ensure we achieve our 100 mile goal, we will also be running a Half Marathon distance on Friday 28th May around the capital, keep your eyes peeled for more info as the month goes on!
And if you would like to follow our progress over the month, head over to our Instagram @100ForCMT!
Thank you for taking the time to read our May fundraiser and we hope we can make everyone proud.
