Story
In July 2022 we will be spending 4 days in the saddle, cycling over 300 miles from London to Paris for Action Medical Research.
Action Medical Research is an amazing charity and has quietly been funding medical breakthroughs for 70 years. They've helped to beat polio, fight meningitis, prevent stillbirths. The breakthrough you might be most familiar with was their invention of the ultrasound scanner used by millions during pregnancy, which has saved thousands of children’s lives, and changed many more for the better.
However, I was surprised to learn that medical research tackling childhood diseases is poorly funded in the UK. AMR are currently funding pioneering research into childhood cancers as well as research that will help prevent premature births and pregnancy complications.
