Story

For those of you who know me well, you understand that I am a loud and passionate person. Being told to “be quiet” or to “shut up” are the type phrases I hear the most in a day! Many fellow students suggested that I should try to attempt a day of silence, but to do that on my own would be hard, especially without motivation.

So, to strive to complete this challenge, on the 17th January I will be completing a Sponsored Silence to raise money for an important matter within our modern society–mental health.

One in four people will experience a mental health problem in their lives which is why I believe this to be a problem that can be solved with the right support and resources available. Partnering with and raising funds for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), I will be giving up my voice to help those who are suffering the find the courage and tools to use their own voice to speak out to receive the support they need.

I understand this time of year is very busy with Christmas and New Year celebrations however I would be very grateful if anyone could find the time to contribute to this cause as it is something as young people that has a huge impact on our lives.
