Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit the Friends For Impact JustGiving page for 2017.

Since Alfi lost his young life at the age of 4 on 1st December 2011, to rare aggressive brain tumour, Medulloblastoma Anaplastic Metastatic, Friends For Impact have raised over £50,000 in his memory helping fund life changing research and student support at the University of Nottingham.

During 2017, Friends For Impact are going to continue to raise funds and awareness of childhood brain tumours in Alfi's memory whilst helping to celebrate and support the ground-breaking work of the Children's Brain Research Centre during its 20th anniversary year.

Friends For Impact events planned so far for 2017.

8th July , we have our annual 'Alfi Day' at Coalville Town FC. It's a community charity family fun day with some of the best local bands playing.

24th September will see Suzanne Mjeshtri and Kelly Schofield take on the Robin Hood Half Marathon as part of the CBTRC team, as they build up to hopefully running the London Marathon in 2018.

28th October, will see us host our annual Halloween Party at Hugglescote Workings Men Club.

Each year, hundreds of children and their families are faced with the terrifying diagnosis of a brain tumour.

Together, in Alfi's memory we can help create a brighter future for children with brain tumours. By raising vital funds that help the development of effective, targeted treatments that not only saves lives, but give those receiving them the best chance to recover and live life to the full.

About the charity

We perform pioneering research into genetic abnormalities of brain tumours, novel imaging techniques & drug delivery. We also excel in diagnosis, innovative treatment & raising awareness. Additional funding will enable crucial advances to be made in understanding & treating childhood brain tumours.
