Alfie Battle Racing

Alan Whittaker is raising money for Myeloma UK
In memory of Steven Battle
Myeloma UK is the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with myeloma. We provide information and support to patients and their families and help myeloma patients live longer, with a better quality of life by accelerating the discovery, development of and access to new treatments.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit the Alfie Battle Racing JustGiving page.

Alfie Battle Racing was established in 2021 to support BRISCA F1 stock car racing and at the same time we are hoping to increase awareness of Myeloma and the related condition of AL Amyloidosis.

After a long period with the condition going undiagnosed, my partner, Steven Battle, received the diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma and Amyloidosis in 2011 and lived with the condition and its consequences for 9 years. He sadly passed away in May 2020, but he is always remembered and very sorely missed. In the midst of grieving, I happened to come across the opportunity to connect again with BRISCA F1 Stock cars after an absence from the sport for 35 years. Engagement with the racing, the drivers, the promoters and the stock car community at large, has helped me to deal with the grief and loss.

Alfie Battle Racing, named jointly after our dog Alfie and Steven, offers sponsorship within BRISCA F1 Stock Cars to give something back to the sport that has helped me so much. At the same time, I hope to increase  awareness and raise funds for Myeloma UK, a charity that always features wherever Alfie Battle Racing is active.
