The Williams Syndrome Foundation was formed in 1980 and is run by parents for parents of children with this rare condition which causes heart and kidney problems and learning difficulties. It desperately needs funds to finance its ambitious research and family support programmes which include national conventions and regional meetings.

Story

Williams Syndrome Awareness Day is Friday 20th May 2016 and Alfie’s Dad and wonderful colleagues at DELL Glasgow are helping to spread that awareness by raising vital funds for the Williams Syndrome Foundation UK. This year’s motto is “SHARE YOUR HEART“

Williams Syndrome is a rare genetic condition that is present at birth and can affect anyone. It is characterised by medical problems including cardiovascular disease, developmental delays and learning disabilities. These often occur side by side with striking verbal abilities, highly social personalities and an affinity for music.

Alife has had a tough 3 years with numerous surgeries and intensive therapy and despite an uncertain future and facing further surgeries, he continues to take things in his stride. He is loved and cherished by those who meet him. His Mum and Dad are extremely proud of him.

Williams Syndrome is often referred to as the Beautiful Mystery and it certainly is that. With his cheeky smile and loving nature, Alfie brightens up everyone’s’ day.
