Story

3 years on from last being together, course 168 from County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service will be together again to raise money for Children with Cancer UK.

As soon as Covid-19 restrictions allow, firefighters from course 168 will be climbing Scafell Pike wearing full firefighting kit to raise money in rememberance of Firefighter Lee Farrow's son, Alfie.

Alfie was born 28th February 2020 a happy and healthy little boy. Three months later, we were given the devastating news that Alfie had an incurable cancer. He battled his Malignant Rhabdoid Tumour and Aytpical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumour (ATRT) courageously and never once let a smile leave his face. Heartbreakingly, Alfie lost his battle on 9th September and passed away peacefully in his Mam and Dads arms, surrounded by his loving family.

Children's cancer is the leading killer of children under 15, and yet out of every £100 spent on cancer research in the UK, only £3 is spent on childhood cancer.

Please dig as deep into your pockets as you can, and lets help to find more cures for this awful disease.

Thank you so much,

Lee, Lauren and Course 168
