Story
On September 7th 2018, I will be travelling with a group of Qlikkies to various communities in Malawi to see, first-hand, the work being done by WeSeeHope (WSH). The reason I am taking this trip is to observe the development and sustainability work that is being done on the ground by WSH in Malawi. I am expecting this trip to be an eye opener for me, specifically around the challenges these communities are facing on a day to day basis. Malawi was ranked as the poorest country in the world in 2017, with over 70% of the population living on less than $1.25 per day. It is also home to one of the highest rates of orphans at approximately 1 million, due to the high rate of HIV prevalence. WeSeeHope exists to support these orphans and vulnerable children who are living in extreme poverty. They partner with local, in-country organisations to develop long term and sustainable programmes that restore, protect, educate, equip and sustain these children and young people.
