Alf Tingley, a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who suffered from muscular dystrophy for more than 20 years, has sadly passed away.

He was being treated in hospital for cellulitis, a condition he suffered from periodically as a result of MD, when he contracted pneumonia. That aggravated an undiagnosed disease called pulmonary fibrosis, which caused him severe breathing difficulties and, sadly, he died on Friday, April 13.

Alf was a tireless fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, helping to swell its bank balance by many thousands of pounds. And in his memory we would like you to join us in helping to contribute more to the charity and its efforts to find a cure.

The charity funds scientific research into this inherited disease and offers support to those who suffer from it and their relatives.

We have requested that anyone who wishes to make donations to the campaign in lieu of flowers at his funeral to donate here.
