WaterAid is an international non-profit with one goal: to change the world through water. Along with decent toilets and good hygiene, a reliable supply of clean water is essential for health, dignity and a life full of opportunity.

Story

Evian, Volvic, Vittel.... spoilt for choice??

Dirty ponds, contaminated rivers, rain... these are the only choices of 800, 000,000 people around the world have.

Fact: 4000 children die daily as a result of drinking this water.

Without access to safe water for drinking, cooking and cleaning these people will continue to suffer from water related diseases.

Who inspired us

Imam Hussain,
over a millenium ago, sacraficed his beloved ones and himself in a stance against injustice and opression. His family were pitched a walking distance from the bank of Euphrates and yet were denied a single drop by the oppressor. Hussain and his camp were made to stay thirsty for 3 days and nights in the hot dessert of modern day Iraq.

Nelson Mandela,
February 2005 Mandela's famous speech at Trafalgar Square infront of over 22,000 people, he issues a challenge to the world leaders to act to make poverty history.

Today; the 21st century, despite the fact there exists enough water to ensure no living being has to stay thirsty, there are many that are denied it.
To help towards todays water poverty and in honor of Hussain, me and my wife will be walking 3 days through the war-torn cities of Iraq from Najaf to Kerbala; his burial site, to raise money to help towards this cause. We will walk through the ICY mornings and the SCORCHING afternoons, and only sleep in TENTS set up by road sides. This will be both physically and mentally challenging and test both our patience.

Please donate generously... llike before, if i fail the challenge I WILL DOUBLE THE POT!!! .........so punish me and donate as much as you can
