2018 sees The Great Western Air Ambulance Charity celebrate its 10th birthday and what better way to celebrate than running a great race to raise money for our life-saving service!

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

It's now been six years since Ali was rescued by the Great Western Air Ambulance, yet our memories of the care and support Pete Sadler and his team provided us with remain crystal clear.

Without this life-saving charity Ali would not be with us today and so we'll be shuffling our way through Bristol for 10 kms in the hope that we can raise a few of the many millions of pounds needed to keep them in the air.

In 2012, Ali's legs were caught in a canal boat propeller and, having survived his injuries and endured extensive reconstructive surgery, he was told he would never walk unaided again. The fact that he's ready to take on this challenge is a mark of just how far he's come. He wants to give something back to these incredible people and remind us all that we should never give up, no matter what life dishes up.
