"Leading the way in animal health and welfare" The University of Cambridge Veterinary School Trust is a charity dedicated to raising funds in support of the Cambridge Veterinary School and Queen's Veterinary Hospital and their aim of providing the best in veterinary education and animal healthcare.

Story

Sooooo... I'm not much of a runner and I after my first half marathon I swore I'd never run a full one, but here we are...

I'm turning forty this year and figured it would be nice to celebrate by doing some sort of fundraiser. As a lot of you will know, I've worked and volunteered with various animal charities though out my life and now find myself splitting my working week between the radiography department at the University of Cambridge Vet School and the surgery department at WoodGreen - the animals charity.

I'm running the London Marathon in support of CamVet because of the amazing support they give us in the vet school and because I have seen how the research they support has directly benefited other charities that I work with. The BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome) research is one such example. By finding out and sharing information about these patients, other organisations are better equipped to assist breeds with this syndrome when they are surrendered.
