Story
I applied for a London Marathon place with Alzheimer's Society last year when my mum Nettie Clack was in the final stage of the disease. I wanted to run for her and raise money for this fantastic charity which supports not only those suffering but also the families and friends who also live with it daily.
I have never run anywhere except for last orders! I cycle and walk a bit but running is a completely new activity. I have joined a running club and now practice four times a week in the months leading up to this race. I am not going to win, but I will run the distance and I know the memories of my mum and support of my friends and family will get me to the line.
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
