Sheldrick Wildlife Trust UK is dedicated to the protection of wildlife and habitats in Kenya. We bring hope to orphaned elephants and rhinos, and secure their future through anti-poaching operations, in-the-field veterinary treatments, community outreach, and more.

Story

On 13th October 2019, I will be running 13.1 miles (which is far) in the Royal Parks Half Marathon in aid of the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust - a charity that’s dedicated to the protection and preservation of Kenya’s wildlife.

At the heart of the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is the pioneering Orphans’ Project that has successfully hand-raised over 230 orphaned adorable elephants, gradually reintroducing them into the wild where they belong!

The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust doesn’t just rehabilitate orphaned elephants, they also operate twelve De-Snaring Teams and five Mobile Veterinary Units, as well as an Aerial Surveillance team that work tirelessly, around the clock, to provide protection to all wildlife.

This is how your donation can make a difference:

•£15 - could keep an orphan baby elephant warm with a lined blanket

•£20 - could feed a baby elephant with special milk formula for a day

•£55 - could fund an Anti-Poaching Team for a day, keeping wildlife safe from snares and poachers

•£200 - could fund a Mobile Veterinary Unit for two days, treating all kinds of injured wildlife

•£900 - could provide first class care for an orphaned baby elephant for one month

I’ve never run anything like this distance, but this feels worth the months of training so thank you so much for your support. With your help, we can save more really cute wild lives!
