Jessica and I will be running the Brighton Half Marathon on the 26th February along with some amazing friends supporting and running with us for The Sussex Heart Charity, in Memory of our amazing dad, Patrick who we lost suddenly in May last year and also our lovely nan, Patricia who we lost in September 2022.  I will then be going onto run the full marathon on April 2nd.  

Both Dad and Nan were under the cardiology unit at the Royal Sussex County Hospital and dad had been under their care for a number of years. The incredible Sussex Heart Charity have supported all levels of care for cardiac patients in Sussex since 1987.  From producing patient information, introducing new standards of care and purchasing innovative medical equipment.  They have worked tirelessly to raise funds to help ensure that the journey cardiac patients undertake through hospital and their recovery is as efficient and effective as possible.

It’s been a horrendous 8 months for us all, it still doesn’t feel real that they both aren’t here with us and breaks our hearts that dad won't be there cheering (shouting) us on as he has done in previous years. But we want to raise as much money as we can for such an important charity, whilst remembering dad and nan in a special way. Dad and Nan had such resilience and we'll be carrying them both in our hearts on the day. ❤️

We aim to raise £1500 and would appreciate any help along the way to hit this target.. It's a big one!  We want to say thank you in advance for any donations, every little helps get us over that finish line. 

Finally, I just want to mention our amazing friends running with us for the half: Ollie, Nicola, Emily, Rhiannon, Kodi, Samantha and Anna.  Thank you so much for joining us and kickstarting the fundraising, we love you, we can do this! And thank you to all family and friends who will be there to support on the day.
