Story
Hello!!
The UCKG HelpCentre is dedicated to support people in living their life to the fullest; and now more than ever, it endeavours to do more in its communities particularly with its 5Alive! initiative, which consists of:
1. Food Bank 🥫 - Helping Many families keep food on the table especially during this pandemic.
2. Soup Kitchen 🍵 - Providing members of the society, homeless people, people sleeping rough with hot and warm food. Helping 2000 people per month. We have also added the soup kitchen plus which provides a wider range of services to the community such as financial advise and health checks. You can find a video of one of our Soup Kitchens here (https://youtu.be/pfFXVLnANr0).
3.Night Angels 🌃 - Providing homeless people, people sleeping rough with essential hygiene products such as; Toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, deodorant etc. We have reached out to 450 Homeless Nationwide.
4. The 24Hr Helpline ☎️- it's a free Helpline offering help to all members of society. We currently receive over 100-200 calls per day, for those in need of a listening ear at any time of the day and night.
5. Give Warmth 🧸 - Providing clothes to homeless such as; blankets, coats, socks, scarfs etc. To keep warm during these cold winters nights. Providing toys for the children at Hospitals and Hospices. As well for young children of inmates. Providing support to the elderly.’
In addition this, there are the continual projects with the Youth Group's Life's Worth Living initiative, where recently, the VYG also held a charity football match against the Metropolitan Police, showcasing that we are working together in the community to benefit young people. Before the pandemic, we even held peaceful marches through London with over one thousand people in attendance to raise awareness against gun and knife crime as well as running many other projects for young people. The UCKG Helpcentre also has various other community groups focused on assisting hospital patients, rehabilitating prisoners and ex-offenders, offering activities for the elderly and supporting those suffering with mental health and addictions.
This year I have decided to support this amazing cause and raise funds by going to different areas of London and singing Christmas Carols (with my not so good voice 😅)
Please help me support the work of the UCKG Helpcentre as through this work many lives will be helped in these hard times.
