The BHF supports great science and great science really can and will change lives.
Working as a research scientist at the University of Oxford my work was funded by the BHF. By trying to understand the mechanisms of blood vessel growth during development the team at the BHF centre for Research Excellence aims to find ways to enhance regeneration of the heart after injury by stimulating new blood vessel growth that can support the repair of damaged muscle. 

Now I am supporting BHF research differently......by running 26.2 miles to help raise much needed funds to support research scientists!!! It has been a huge challenge to combine my life as a scientist and mother of three with the gruelling task of training for a marathon, but it's only thanks to fund raising that the BHF can support great science, create new treatments and discover new cures. So it's worth it!  Thank you for your support!!!
