My two very brave cousins were diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, Henry 8 years old and George 13 years old. They have been such an inspiration to my family and I am wanting to raise money for the Stars Appeal children's department for diabetes.
The past four years diabetes became apart of my family’s life. Type one diabetes is a lifelong condition where the pancreas does not produce any insulin with regular injections at meal time, this has definitely changed their lives. This is a daily struggle to manage, they have to check their glucose levels throughout the day and night involving testing their bloods through finger pricks and injections, up to 8 times a day.
I am taking part in my first ever triathlon at Bowood house, this is a huge challenge, having never done a competitive cycle ride, or swam in open water and having a severe lack of running skills. Your donation will not only keep me pushing through the training but it will most importantly give a donation to support the children diagnosed with type 1 through treatment, research and family support.
