Thank you for visiting my London Marathon 2018 JustGiving page.. 

In May 2017, sadly my Dad passed away of underlying heart disease and suffered a heart attack whilst at home one evening.  

As a person, Dad was someone who epitomised the phrase "life and soul of the party" - he was one of the most generous and loving people in the world, and the sudden taking of his life at 77 seemed unfair and unexpected for all of us.  Even though I can picture Dad looking down saying "I don't want all of this fuss", I'm running the marathon to raise awareness for people with similar symptoms to Dad, so that heart-related diseases can be caught early enough and save lives.  The money donated to British Heart Foundation helps to fund vital research and education, preventing heart attacks and diseases.  

As anyone who knows me - I'm not the finest example of physical fitness and the thought of running a marathon fills me with fear, but I would like to do something that pushes me to my limit, raises money for a charity close to my heart, and most importantly in memory of my Dad, "Stan the Man".
