Story
The Big Stroll is exactly that! We're walking from Bristol to London, along cycle paths and canals, bit by bit, until we get to the capital. We would like to honour the memory of a friend of ours Sara Reed, who passed away recently and help make the dark days easier for those that need help at their lowest moments before it's too late.
Suicide Prevention Bristol in the space of just two years, our team of volunteers have made a profound impact within our community and supported so many people in their darkest hours.
Suicide Prevention Bristol was founded to prevent suicide from areas of Bristol that unfortunately has people ending their life through suicide.
Suicide Prevention Bristol has volunteers to walk the paths during the night to notice people that are feeling suicidal or generally unwell and struggling with their mental health. We can provide a service that
allows these well know hotspots to be the last line of support in their
most difficult time of their life’s and show them that people care.
In September 2019 we were awarded the Gold Star Award for our volunteering activities in Bristol and we were picked as the hero of Bristol for volunteer of which were incredibly pleased that we have the recognition throughout Bristol of the work we are doing.
