About Time For Lyme was started by our close friend Kellie, after she spent 8 years being repeatedly misdiagnosed until doctors were able
to correctly diagnose her chronic illness as Lyme in 2013.
Since her diagnosis, Kellie has used her own struggle for
diagnosis in the UK to co-found About Time For Lyme and campaigns to improve diagnosis and most importantly, awareness of the debilitating disease which is so often overlooked by medical professionals.
Kellie has personally spoken before members of Parliament,
using various social media platforms and through coverage in BBC, ITV and local papers to further help raise awareness of the disease. The About Time for Lyme team are determined to use what they have learnt to help prevent others from enduring years (or even lifetimes) of unnecessary suffering.
On the 8th September, a group of us will be running the New
Forest Half Marathon (some of whom have never run further than 5K before) and we would be thrilled to raise a few pennies for the About Time For Lyme mission. The New Forest is an area common to ticks and is where Kellie and some us grew up, so we will be using the preventative methods we have learnt from the charity and will be sporting long socks whilst sweating our way around the
21.1KM course.
All donations from this page will go to producing essential educational materials for promoting awareness and aiding in prevention.
Thanks for taking the time to read the About Time for Lyme
story and thanks so much for your donations.
