The Thames Marathon · 15 August 2021 ·
This year we have chosen to swim the Thames Marathon on behalf of SwimTayka, pledging to raise at least £750 for the charity.
According to WHO, Drowning is the 3rd leading cause of unintentional injury death worldwide. It is a silent epidemic that claims over 360,000 lives per year. Open water swimming has been an incredibly welcome respite to that other pandemic that has dominated our lives during this last year. Tom has discovered a new love of swimming, Alice has rekindled hers of 30 years ago. We hope also that Tom may be able to join a future SwinTayka mission, sharing that enthusiasm, and saving lives.
Every penny donated counts and helps SwimTayka take those next steps in saving innocent lives by preventing drowning in disadvantaged waterside communities across the world, while also enabling them to teach children about the environment and the importance of water stewardship. And we are grateful for every single penny you can spare.
