Bibi was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma in 2018 at 2 years old. She was clever, sarcastic and absolutely fierce. She captured everyone's hearts with her larger-than-life personality and sense of fun.

Hello. We are nearly in Year 2 and our friend Clara's little sister has been sick for a long time. We want to break a record so people will give us money that will help Bibi get better. Please give us lots of money.

We have been practising forward rolls in the park and we have never done more than 100. That's a lot. We will break our record on Saturday 22nd August and do 120!

Love Joanie and Alice xx

From Nathalie

I'm Joanie's mum and I'll be doing my first 5k on 19th August for Bibi. It might not seem like a lot, but I haven't run since 1996, and I figure since the girls are smashing their record, I should get off my behind and do something too!

Bibi's parents Tiago and Laura are our friends, and they've been through what every parent dreads, whilst doing some heroic fundraising to plan for treatment abroad. I'm looking forward to doing my bit, so please dig deep and help us meet our target!

#BreakARecordforBibi

If you or your kids want to #breakarecordforbibi this August, it can literally be anything, you can be any age, and anywhere - just do something (anything!) you haven't done before, have some fun, and raise some money for our lovely local girl who will need medical care abroad in the coming months.

It's a great thing to do with the kids this summer while we're mostly stuck at home, and will mean so much to Bibi and her family. See the Help Bibi Beat Cancer facebook page for details. https://www.facebook.com/helpbibibeatcancer

Bibi's story

Beatriz, or 'Bibi',  is a gorgeous little cutie pie - just don't tell her that. She's also fierce as hell. Her favourite things are Paw Patrol, Peperami sausages, picking fluff out from in between her toes and winding up her big sister.

She keeps her amazing nurses on their toes and terrifies the consultants. "She's weird, wonderful and amazing - she wants to be the tooth fairy when she grows up. And she is genuinely one of the funniest people we know," says her mum, Laura.

At two and a half, Beatriz suddenly became very clingy and unhappy. Her parents thought it was just a phase. But she was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood cancer that has a 40-50% chance of long-term survival.

Her family are raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for further treatment, either to get their daughter into remission or to try and keep the cancer away if treatment does go to plan.
