LET'S GO!

In May 2023 I'm running my first half marathon to raise money for Samaritans and support the incredible work they do.

A few years ago, in the space of a few weeks, I lost two people close to me to suicide. You never know how grief will hit you. Losing people in this way is something I've never fully been able to process and which made me feel as though my world had flipped upside down.

Then I found running.

I'd always hated it at school, but was told time and time again about the mental health benefits it can bring. So I joined a Couch to 5K group, and started heading to Parkrun at the weekends too, and over the next few weeks noticed how little by little, running was helping me get back on track. 

Now, I run for miles in the sunshine, the smiles in the street from other runners, and the headspace it brings. This year, I'm taking on the Hackney Half Marathon to fundraise for a charity incredibly close to my heart, which helps save lives every day.
