Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As you all know, last year i organised a successful WEAR A HAT DAY event & raised 1398 pounds!!!
Considering the fact that -
-Brain tumours kill more children & adults under the age of 40 than any other can
-It kills more children than Luekaemia
-it kills more men under 45 than prostate cancer &yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has beenallocated to this deadly disrase!!
- It kills more women under 35 than breast cancer
As you all know, this charity is very close to my heart after losing my brother nearly 3 years ago to this deadly disease!
RIK was diagnosed with primary lung cancer & secondary brain tumours at the young age of 49 & given 3 months to live!
I cant really put into words the devastation it caused our family, nor can i put into words Riks positivity & determination to try & beat this disease.
He NEVER EVER spoke about WHAT IF’s it was always the I WILL’s!!
Together with totally changing his lifestyle/diet etc & his sheer determination he nearly tripled his prognosis, but sadly on the 28th June 2016, (actually my sister’s birthday!) he lost his battle to cancer, having firstly celebrated his wedding to Zoe, then his 50th birthday, just 4 weeks earlier!
Www.braintumourresearch.org are campaigning to see the national spend on research into brain tumours increase to 30/35 million a year, in line with breast cancer & leukaemia.
Last year, me & my close friend Michelle organised a wear a hat day event & managed to raise over 1300!
This year, although im
Not organising an event... i will be wearing different hats throughout the whole day & encourage you all to do the same!
