Next Thursday 25/02/2021 I will run the Doha Ooredoo Half-Marathon (virtual) to help raising money for the Animal Organization PAWS Rescue Qatar, as I did last year (thanks to all of you who donated in 2020).
PAWS is a non-profit organization in Qatar and a registered charity in the UK that rescue animals from the streets abandoned, stray or injured (they can't be registered in Qatar as no animal humanitarian groups are allowed to be). The money raised in this event will help fund food, medicine and vet bills for vaccinations and treatments, as these animals are usually sick/injured and need vet support.

2021 has arrived and as the world struggles, they do also more
than ever. This global pandemic has had an enormous impact on everyone, but in particular the efforts to afford to rescue and rehome the animals that so badly need it. The team of volunteers works tirelessly on the ground, and behind the scenes to ensure that they answer pleas in emergency cases, find homes, and keep safe all in their care. The numbers have risen dramatically in the last year due to COVID, this in turn is relative to costs, which have also risen in vet bills, food and overheads.

El próximo Jueves 25/02/2021 correré la Ooredoo Media Maratón de Doha (Virtual) a fin de recaudar fondos para la Organización de Defensa de los Animales PAWS Rescue Qatar, como hice el año pasado (gracias a todos los que donasteis en 2020)
PAWS es una organización sin ánimo de lucro situada en Qatar y registrada como Organización Benéfica en Reino Unido que rescata animales abandonados, callejeros o heridos (no están registrados en Qatar ya que no les está permitido a grupos de ayuda animal). El dinero recaudado ayudara a pagar comida, medicinas y facturas de veterinario para vacunas y tratamientos ya que estos animales normalmente están enfermos o heridos.

El 2021 ha llegado, y mientras el mundo lucha, ellos también y ahora más que nunca. Esta pandemia mundial ha tenido un impacto enorme en todos, pero en particular en los esfuerzos para rescatar y realojar a los animales que tanto lo necesitan. El equipo de voluntarios trabaja incansablemente para asegurarse de responder las llamadas en casos de emergencia, encontrar hogares y mantener a salvo a todos los residentes del refugio. Las cifras han aumentado drásticamente en el último año debido a COVID, implicando nuevos gastos, que también han aumentado en las facturas de veterinario, comida y gastos generales.
