I'm joining a trek through the Knuckles Mountain Range, named after its likeness to a clenched fist, in central Sri Lanka. This trek follows little-trodden trails through rice paddies and tea-blanketed highlands, passing  waterfalls and small mountain villages towards the highest point, Knuckles Peak. Accommodation is in expedition style tents.

I'm participating in this challenge to raise funds for Genesis research Trust - for the health of women and babies. Many members of my family have experienced issues covered by this charity's research - including my mum, nana, sisters, both my daughters and myself. 

It's Chairman - Professor Robert Winston was so kind and emailed personal advice about a recent issue in my family, and so I am undertaking this challenge as a thank you for his help.
