Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year, after five years of triathloning at distances ranging from sprint to half ironman, I have finally decided to go long and take on a full Ironman (3.8K swim, 180K bike, 42K run). I chose Ironman Zurich (27 July 2014) as my maiden event for this distance and have also lined up a number of "training races" in the build up to it. One of them, which I'm attempting on the 8th of June, is a serious challenge in its own right and will hopefully give me some confidence on succeeding in Zurich: it is the infamous Wiggle Dragon Ride, the Gran Fondo distance (223km, with 2.9K of climbing).
To make all that effort worthwhile, I have also committed to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity that strives to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. Each one of us runs a 33% risk of getting cancer at some point in our lives so as sad as it may sound there is a 33% chance of Macmillan becoming our own charity! So please dig deep and help me achieve my target of raising £1,000 for them.
