Walk for Australian Wildlife · 19 January 2020

WIRES, the NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service has been rescuing and caring for native animals for over 35 years. Our mission is to actively rehabilitate and preserve Australian wildlife and inspire others to do the same. We have over 4000 volunteers in 28 branches.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. A donation of 20 Australian Dollars is about £10 in UK pounds and the funds go directly to the charity.

Like many people, we three children, Iden (aged 8), Quinn (aged 6) and Harrison (aged 7), have been devastated by what is happening in Australia and want to do something to help. We have organised a ten Kilometre walk starting from Whites Wood Farm, home of Led by the Wild, in Aldington, Ashford, Kent. We are asking for your support so we can send much needed funds to WIRES who rescue and care for native animals.

You can support us in two ways:

1) Sponsor us here and help motivate us to complete the walk (which is a long way for little legs!)

2) Come and join us on our walk - We will be starting from the car park of Led by the Wild, Whites Wood Farm, at 10am on Sunday the 19th January. The walk will take us up over the famous Aldington knoll, along the beautiful military canal and back up through Bilsington. The walk will be at an easy pace for all. If you do join us for the walk, please bring a small donation (any donation is fine but we suggest £5 per person or £10 for a family)

By helping us to fundraise for WIRES you will be helping them to rescue and care for more native Australian animals affected by the fires, to provide ongoing wildlife information and education to the community and helping them to recruit and support more volunteer rescuers and carers.

Your support literally helps save lives as WIRES rescues and care for tens of thousands of Australian animals every year. WIRES relies on community support for more than 98% of their funding, it is only through the help of generous supporters that they are able to continue their wildlife rescue and care services.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
