ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon 2018 · 8 April 2018 ·

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.

Story

As most of you will know Paul fell ill in 2014 and declined rapidly, resulting in him being rushed to hospital.  The Drs identified an infection of some sort and immediately started him on a general antibiotics and fluid.  This quick action saved Paul's life.

Unfortunately this is not always the case and each year 44,000 people lose their lives to Sepsis in the UK alone.  So, on the 8th April 2018 I am running my second marathon, alongside my running buddy Suzanne, to help raise funds and awareness of Sepsis.
