Venture Arts is charity that not only provides a safe, secure environment for adults with learning disabilities but also, just as importantly, provides a forum for the attendees to gain respect and self esteem by being treated as artists in their own right, on a level with other professional peers.  

Lockdown was a particularly challenging time for both the artists, for whom attending the centre is an integral part of daily life, and the staff who faced the incredibly difficult challenges of delivering art sessions online and keeping morale high.

It's an absolute privilege to be able to volunteer work with both the artists and the staff, and to see the huge difference it makes to the lives of people who are too often ignored by society, and yet can (and do) contribute just as much as the more fortunate of us.  

For the above reasons Guy has undertaken the mighty challenge of his first half marathon for 20 years, and myself the challenge of the Couch to 5k (having not run for anything other than the Mother's race at the kids' sports day).  We would be so, so grateful if you could donate anything to keep us going until the big day, no matter how small.  We know times are still tough for many, so even just a good luck message would be gratefully received as our creaking bones plod the streets of South Manchester!
