NHS Charities Together and its members across the UK are hugely grateful for the support received from so many since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Story

As a Type 1 diabetic, the NHS have kept me healthy and alive. They have been truly wonderful to me and now the whole nation is sadly, very aware of this too.

I am fortunate enough to be able to exercise every day at this difficult time. So I decided as I cannot sew, cook or offer anything practical, I would turn my daily exercise into a challenge and hopefully a fundraiser along the way. Whilst furloughed from my work, I am aiming to walk or cycle a total of 500 miles. If I could raise a £1 for each mile I would be delighted but I know that is a big ask.

I started on the 21st March and monitoring all my exercise on MapMyWalk. I have so far averaged 45 miles per week. So I think I will need to "up my game!" I will continue till "normal service" is able to start again and hopefully may go further than the target I have set myself.
