Hector’s Greyhound Rescue is devoted to saving and rehoming ex-racing Greyhounds and other sighthounds in North Wales, Shropshire and Cheshire. As a Registered Charity, we rely totally on the support of volunteers and the kind donations of the public.

Story

Thank you for looking at my just giving page. I’m raising money for Hector’s Greyhound Rescue where I have been a trustee for over a year, I do this for free.

The charity rescue ex racing greyhounds who, without our help would either be euthanised or sent abroad for horrific reasons. These hounds sometimes come with horrid broken bones and scars, Hector’s pay for all the vet fees and this can’t be done without the donations from the public. They have no paid staff.

A Greyhound race in the UK is roughly 250m, they run this at least once a week in their 5 year career. For this reason I’m going to walk/run/jog 100 miles in one week either outside or at my local gym to cover the distance the dogs would do in their career.

Please dig deep, it costs the rescue an average of 10k a month, we need to keep rescuing these dogs to save their lives
