Nightrider London 2022 · 11 June 2022 to 12 June 2022 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, I have chosen to participate in the London Nightrider - which entails cycling 100km around central London through the night on the 11 June 2022.
Mark was diagnosed with Myeloma in September 2021.
Mark has just completed a course of chemo, with the aim to have a stem cell transplant to follow.
To complicate matters, just after the diagnosis we learnt that Mark is suffering with an issue with his heart, this needs sorting in order to be deemed fit enough for the transplant .
We are now in the hands of the amazing consultants at St Thomas's Hospital to replace his aortic valve via an alternative route (due to complications caused by the cancer) in order for Kings College Hospital to then carry out the stem cell transplant!
Myeloma is classified as a terminal cancer, there are treatments to manage it but there is currently no cure! Following the transplant Mark can be in remission for up to 5 years before we will have to go through the process again. You can only have 2 stem cell transplant, so as you can see we need to raise as much as possible to fund research and development into this cruel disease.
We are so very grateful for any donations no matter the amount!
THANK YOU 🙏🏻
