We are helping to raise money for The Barnsley Hospice as sadly last year we lost our Mum/Grandma to Cancer. 

She was diagnosed in October 2015 with Secondary Lung Cancer . She began treatment within a few weeks but unfortunately throughout the next 6 months she suffered several set backs along the way which in the end prevented her from being able to have anymore treatment.

Within the last 3 months of her life we sourced help from The Barnsley Hospice team who provide her with regular counselling sessions. We can not explain the difference this made to her and how she used to look forward to going, as if by some miracle they were going to cure her. The team there really are remarkable. 

In April 2016 we were told that there was nothing more that could be done for her. This was the news we had all been dreading to hear and we all was truly heartbroken.

Even then after hearing the awful news she was still positive and looking forward to seeing her counsellor. Even when she became too weak to travel the Counsellor came out to see her at her home.

Sadly on the 22nd May 2016 she passed away with all of her loving family around her.

Barnsley Hospice immediately offered their help to all of us and has helped us grieve and to try and come to terms with our loss.

The people and service they offer really is amazing!
