Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon 2012 · 7 October 2012 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to give the royal parks half marathon another shot after last years attempt when I managed to faint as I crossed the finish line. I am running in memory of my incredible husband, Alex Lewis, who passed away in February 2011 after a long battle with osteosarcoma.
Around 450 people are diagnosed with bone cancer each year in the UK and Republic of Ireland, mainly affecting children and young people between the ages of 10 and 24. The most common types of bone cancer are osteosarcoma and Ewing's sarcoma.
BCRT sets out to improve the outcome for people with primary bone cancer through research, awareness, information and support. As bone cancer is rare, research into primary bone cancer currently gets very little funding from other sources. Since being formally registered as a charity in 2006, BCRT has funded 24 research projects to the value of £800,000.
So please be generous with your donations.
